Description

The Head of Internal Communications will play a critical role in ensuring that employees are informed and engaged in our vision, and values. You will be responsible for creating and managing content across a variety of channels, including email, social media, intranets, and more, to inform and engage employees. You will also need to work cross-functionally with different departments and levels of the organisation to ensure consistent messaging and collaboration.

Effective internal communication is essential for any organisation, and the Head of Internal Communications will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s internal communication strategy is aligned with its overall business strategy. You will need to have a deep understanding of the company’s goals, values, and culture to develop creative and engaging communication strategies that resonate with employees.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing an internal communications strategy that aligns with the company’s overall strategic goals. This will include identifying and targeting key audiences and channels for communication, as well as developing engaging content. You will need to work cross-functionally with different departments to ensure communications align with business priorities.
  • Developing a calendar/programme for Internal Communications that includes business-wide updates including celebrating employees, celebrating business successes, learning and sharing opportunities as well as summer/winter events and involvement in charitable causes fostering an environment of collaboration and inclusivity.
  • Measuring the success of communication efforts, adjusting strategies as needed, and reporting on overall progress to leadership teams. You will need to be able to analyse data and use it to make informed decisions about communication strategies.
  • Writing and editing content, creating presentations, and delivering messages effectively to different audiences in a creative and engaging way. You will need to be able to translate complex information into clear, concise language that is easy for employees to understand.
  • Measuring employee engagement & satisfaction on a regular basis and putting in place new initiatives based on employee feedback.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or a related field.
  • You should have a minimum of five years’ experience in internal communications or a related field.
  • You must be a strategic thinker with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • You should have proven success in developing and executing strategic communications plans.
  • You should possess a strong understanding of different communication channels, such as social media, email, and intranets etc.
  • An excellent communicator, you should possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
